This has never been more true than it is today- and will only be MORE TRUE tomorrow.

So- think about your…yesterday.

Did you do whatever you did safely? Did you meet production goals? Did the way you did it…your efficiency…allow you to meet budget or make a profit? How about your reliability? Did you do what you said you would do? Are your clients and customers, whether external or internal…happy?

Better yet- are they elated?

Whatever your role, they had better be if you want to thrive into the future.

You see- I can look at your results…wherever you are responsible…and I KNOW a lot about YOU.

By examining your results, I can see a clear picture of your commitment. I can sense your character. I can grasp a near-perfect understanding of your beliefs. I can most certainly see what you’re really made of.

Your results tell me what you do and how you do it…every single day.

I don’t care whether you’re a CEO, COO, CNO, or CFO. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a VP, a general manager, department head, coordinator, supervisor, or an individual contributor.

Whatever your role, it works the same: Your thoughts and beliefs determine your choices. The choices you make, the actions you take…and HOW you take those actions… dictate your results.

And your results determine your success…or failure.

The thing is- your results are your results.

If what you’re currently achieving and creating is NOT what you want it to be, this is NOT somebody else’s fault. You are NOT a victim of anyone or anything other than YOURSELF.

So…looking to improve your results (in any area)? Looking for sustainability?

I have a tip for you.

When it comes to you personally, however, the answer is a bit simpler:

OWN your role.

Whatever role you’re playing at any given moment…own it. Own your choices, own your behaviors…own your outcomes!

This simple shift will place you WAY above most, setting your stage for massive improvement…in any area.

The thing is…it’s so e-a-s-y NOT to.

Society has made it very convenient and acceptable to blame and complain…to justify your circumstances or situation.

Current culture has made it easy to…not really care.

“I don’t’ have the resources.”

They don’t like me.”

“I don’t trust them.”

“I don’t have enough staff.”

Do you find yourself thinking or saying anything like that?

If so, here’s my response: “Suck it up princess!”

The world has ALWAYS been (and will always be) overflowing with reasons why things can’t be done…why they can’t be achieved, why they cost too much and take too long.

AND…there have likewise ALWAYS been those who’ve risen above or gone around the “can’ts” the don’ts” and the “no ways”. They’ve improvised…they’ve adapted…they’ve overcome. These are the champions- willing to do whatever it takes to achieve success.

Are you one of them?

If so, you know there IS a cost involved.

In the short term, it’s easy to NOT pay the price, to NOT to be accountable, to NOT exert extra effort.

The thing is- you either pay the price for success NOW…by putting all you’ve got into everything you do, or you suffer the cost of failure…forever.

President Harry Truman had a sign on his desk- “The buck stops here.”

Think how awesome the world could be if we all lived by that mantra- if we all (or at least a majority) were truly and honestly proactively accountable for everything within our personal spheres of influence.

The buck stops here!

Yes, my friend- results are everything.

How are your current results?

If they’re not what you want them to be, it’s no one else’s fault.

The starting point for getting the results you want is to start owning…honestly and truthfully…100% OWNING your role in everything you do.

And by the way, this applies at home- with your husband, wife, kids, parents…in-laws…every bit as much as it does at work.

Own it. Own it. Own it.
